Skill Development Programme (SDP)
Introduction
The Skill Development Programmes at Excel Public School aim to provide students with a variety of courses that align with their interests, enhance practical learning, and foster entrepreneurial and industry exposure. Starting from Grade VI, students have an opportunity to choose from a selection of short-duration modules, each lasting 15 hours throughout the year. These programs empower students with the essential skills and understanding to make informed decisions about their future careers, whether to pursue specialized courses in higher education or opt for vocational degrees.
By offering this flexibility, the school ensures that students have a wider range of career options to explore. The twelve skill development programs incorporate activities like case studies, role plays, simulations, and field visits to help students develop their skills and competencies. Every student participates in at least one program and continues it for a minimum of three years.
Nano Hub
Nano Horizons is a pioneering programme of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Exploring the incredible potential of the tiniest particles to revolutionize industries from quantum computing to healthcare. Through hands-on experiments and cutting-edge research, children gain a deep understanding of nanomaterials and their transformative applications. In this programme, students carry out experiments, synthesize nanoparticles, and learn about the properties of nanomaterials.
Reach for the Skies
Celestial Explorers is an immersive programme designed to ignite the passion for space exploration. Under the guidance of experts, students delve into the intricacies of satellite data analysis and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge space technologies. From building payloads to exploring thrust and working with sensors, they are at the forefront of space innovation.
Flight Path
Flight Path is a thrilling programme that introduces students to the world of rockets, RC planes, and drones. As students design, build, and fly their creations, they develop essential skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. Students showcase their creativity while exploring potential career paths in aerospace engineering, aviation, and research science.
Start Apps
Start Apps is a programme that empowers to bring ideas to life. Using an online platform, students learn the fundamentals of block coding, logic, and database management. As they conceptualize, design, and develop their applications and games. Students gain valuable skills that can open doors to exciting careers in technology.
Tech Builders (Robotics)
Tech Builders is a programme that empowers our students to become a robotics innovator. Students learn about Microcontrollers and 3D Printing while designing and building functional robots that solve real-world problems.
Games of Life (Bio Coding)
Life Science Explorers is a programme that allows exploration of the fascinating world of life sciences through game development. Scratch programming is used to create interactive games that educate students in a fun and engaging way.
Clue Finders (Forensic)
Forensic Investigators is a programme that introduces the exciting world of forensics. Students learn about the interdisciplinary science that uses Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics to solve crimes. Developing analytical and scientific skills is the goal while exploring crime scenes to unravel mysteries.
HAM Radio (Amateur Radio)
In this programme, students have the opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of radio communication such as setting up antennas, transmitters, and receivers, and how to troubleshoot common technical issues. Students build their radio transmitters and receivers. They use these skills to communicate with other amateur radio operators. The skills learnt in this programme is beneficial for students in applying for a HAM license.
Green Thumb - (Agriculture Programme)
Students learn the secrets of planting and harvesting crops using technology to make farming more efficient. They gain hands-on experience and discover the joy of watching something they planted grow. They also delve into the basics of soil science, master kitchen gardening, and explore techniques for growing their food. They also learn the principles of organic farming and various sustainable practices related to agriculture.
Fine Arts - (Sculpture)
Sculpture is the art of creating three-dimensional forms from materials like clay, wood, metal, or stone. In this club, students explore various sculpting techniques and materials. They learn about clay modeling, sand casting, polymer clay art, cement modeling, screen printing, mask making, and pottery. Through hands-on projects, students develop their artistic skills and create unique and tangible pieces.
Fine Arts - (Folk Painting)
Folk painting is a special kind of art that people create in different parts of the world which in a way helps them express their unique culture, traditions, and stories through colorful and beautiful pictures. In this club, students learn to make Mandala Art, Lippan Art, Warli art, Ganjifa Art, Screen Printing, Kalamkari Art and Pottery.
Fine Arts - (Theatre)
Theatre is like a big, exciting play where people come together to weave stories. It is an art where actors use their voices, bodies, and emotions to bring characters to life. In this club, students learn shadow art, shadow play, colour shadow puppets, screen printing, puppet making, puppet shows and basics of theater production.
