At Excel Public School, we believe that ensuring the safety and well-being of our children is a shared responsibility between the school and parents. While we take every precaution to maintain a secure environment within the school, parental vigilance is crucial beyond school hours.
In recent times, we have observed concerning trends where students engage in unsupervised activities that may compromise their safety. Unrestricted access to inappropriate digital content and the easy availability of prohibited items expose children to harmful behaviors and unhealthy influences. Additionally, issues such as poor eating and sleeping habits, excessive screen time, uncontrolled social media use, and exposure to inappropriate contents directly impact their study habits and learning outcomes, underscoring the need for increased parental attention. To ensure our children’s safety, we urge parents to:
- Supervise daily commutes: Personally ensure that your child boards the school bus/private van in the morning and is received at the designated stop in the afternoon.
- Monitor social activities: Stay informed about your child’s whereabouts when attending social gatherings, student-organized outings, or after-school activities and classes.
- Encourage responsible behavior: Do not permit underage children to ride two-wheelers or drive four-wheelers, which are both unsafe and unlawful.
- Regulate digital usage: Set clear limits on screen time and actively monitor online activities to safeguard emotional and social well-being and protect them from cybercrimes.
- Stay engaged: Take an active interest in your child’s friendships and daily routines. Firm guidance today will shape their future.
- Report concerns: If you notice any unusual or concerning behavior in your child—such as sudden withdrawal, secrecy, emotional distress, or erratic habits—please bring it to the attention of the school authorities at the earliest or seek professional help.
- Spend quality time with your child: Meaningful interactions strengthen the parent-child bond and provide emotional security. Engage in open conversations, encourage shared activities, and create a supportive home environment where your child feels comfortable discussing their thoughts, challenges, and aspirations.
