EPS Club Hubs

Introduction

At Excel Public School, we believe in holistic development, and our Student Clubs provide the perfect platform for exploring interests beyond the classroom. These clubs foster creativity, teamwork, and leadership and also provide students with hands-on experience and exposure in various fields. Through active participation in these clubs, students develop essential life skills, broaden their perspectives, and build confidence, all while pursuing their passions.

Readers and Writers Club (EPS Expressions)

The EPS Expressions is a student-driven club that promotes expression in literary forms. It consists of students as—writers, readers, orators, leaders, and thinkers – all willing to combine ideas to create something extraordinary. The club aims to serve as a medium for students to unleash their talents, and express their perspectives and opinions by creating a platform and repository of their work on the website. It works on meaningful discussions about various topics, frequent meetings on improvising strategies, and regular cataloguing of the work received on the website. The ultimate vision is to improve linguistic skills, allowing thoughts to flow freely and to expand worldviews; to push past limits and spread the joy of expression.

Goals
  • Create a community of readers and writers who can share their passion for literature, improve their skills, and support each other.
  • Organize regular meetings, book discussions, writing workshops, and guest speaker events to enhance our literary knowledge and skills.
  • Host literary events, such as open mic activities, poems, and other writing activities, to showcase our talents and engage with the broader community.

Student Council: Leadership and Responsibility

The Student Council at Excel Public School plays a vital role in fostering leadership, promoting student well-being, and upholding the school’s ethos. It provides a democratic platform where students actively participate in decision-making, express their opinions, and gain practical experience in responsibility, teamwork, and civic engagement. The council serves as a bridge between students, faculty, and administration, promoting collaboration, respect for diversity, and social responsibility. Through events and initiatives, it unifies the student body and enhances community ties.

The Head Girl and Head Boy, as the council’s ambassadors, lead by example. They organize events, set the vision, and ensure smooth execution of responsibilities. House Captains and Vice-Captains oversee sports, cultural, and literary activities, maintain discipline, and ensure fair selection for competitions. They collaborate with House Mentors and motivate their House members.

The school is committed to nurturing these leaders by offering regular orientation and leadership training sessions for all council members. These programs enhance their leadership skills and prepare them for their responsibilities.

In addition to the leadership structure, the school promotes Collaborative Governance through student-led committees, such as Discipline Committee, Cleanliness Committee, Cafeteria Committee, and Transport Committee, each guided by teacher mentors. These committees allow students to contribute directly to school operations and take ownership of important issues like hygiene, nutrition, and safety.

The leadership journey is celebrated during the Investiture Ceremony, a formal event where student leaders pledge to uphold the values of the school and lead by example, marking the start of their official roles and responsibilities.
