We are currently going through a period of uncertainty not experienced in such magnitude for almost a century. These troubled times threaten to shake the very pillars on which our lives are built. When we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is going to be a different place. A new normal will be established which, hopefully, will be better than the one of the past.

It is this new world that our children will grow up in. And now is the time to begin preparing them for it, so that they are not only prepared for it but they are also able to take control of the making of it, becoming the game-changers, trend-setters and policy makers.

In order to succeed, the children of today need critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication and problem-solving abilities as well as occupational skills and cultural and spiritual enlightenment. They need to have the skills of anticipation, agility and adaptability to be able to take on new challenges with élan.

Obviously, the learning-by-rote method of education is not going to work any longer. We are teaching the ideas of the last century to the children of this century to plan for the world in the next century. The old method of classroom learning, chalk-talk-and-stick, that is taught by a teacher and absorbed by the student, is also on its way out.

We at Excel Public School believe that learning is not limited to textbooks, teachers and classrooms. We believe in holistic learning, which lies in taking learning out of the classroom and integrating it with real life participation. We believe in providing children with challenging, exciting and diverse experiences to help them learn.

We have come up with activities that are hands-on, outcome-based and fun, and widely varied so as to cater to the full range of abilities and talents that children possess intrinsically.

We hope our children will try out these activities, thereby discovering their own ability, aptitude, and attitude.
